Initial investment is minimal - short periods of time for content and book creation. Optionally some money for some helpful tools is preferred, but it is not essential. You can get started with your phone camera and I will show you some free tools that you could upgrade later if you wish.

Not at all! Both are included because they are two different ways to earn money on Amazon without selling physical products. Unlike Amazon FBA, the KDP and Affiliate programs allow you to provide digital creations, and Amazon handles the headaches: inventory, shipping, and returns for you. That said, if learning both at once feels overwhelming, simply start with the one that excites you most and add the second when you feel ready. There is no wrong choice!
